contents The Twin Peak QPOs in Neutron Star and Black Hole Sources: What is explained, and What is not Jirí Horák Paola Rebusco M. A. Abramowicz Wlodec Kluzniak Michal Bursa Gabriel Török Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Accretion hydrodynamics stars: neutron accretion disks black hole physics The resonance model proposed in 2000 by Kluźniak and Abramowicz, explains the twin peak, high frequency, quasi periodic oscillations (HF QPOs) observed in the X-ray flux from black hole and neutron stars, as anon-linear resonance in modes of oscillations of accretion flows in strong gravity. While several importantphysical questions remain unanswered, recent observations of HF QPOs provide direct evidence of non-linearresonances. This article gives an up to date (May 2006) review of what has been explained, and what has notbeen explained, by the resonance model. 2007 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57102703 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.27
