The area has developedrapidly during last decade, stimulated by the construction of large telescopes and the launch of space telescopes. There are still many unanswered questions concerning the early stages of star formation as well as the manydetailed processes in the later stages. In addition, more than 150 exoplanets orbiting nearby solar-type starshave been found up to now, and therefore we should also investigate the processes involved in the formationof planetary systems around stars. At this moment of planning to build the Korean Large Telescopes, we haveformed a research team to work together and contribute to the understanding of these fundamental questions. The research topics we are planning to study with the future Korean Large Telescopes are presented 2007 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57102823 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.28
