| contents | Planetary nebulae in the magellanic clouds P. Francois M. Dennefeld P. Leisy Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas ISM: GENERAL ISM: ABUNDANCES PLANETARY NEBULAE: GENERAL GALAXIES: MAGELLANIC CLOUDS We present a large and homogeneous sample of optical and UV observations of PNe and derive their abundancesand the implications for the Intermediate Mass Stars (IMS) and Galactic chemical evolution. We observe the\hot bottom burning" (HBB) reaction, oxygen depletion (ON cycle) and/or production (likewise carbon) duringthe third dredge-up. All these e ects are more ecient at lower metallicity. A strong warning is that oxygencan not be used to derive the initial composition of the progenitor star, but we have to use other elements likesulfur or argon. 2002 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57112046 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.12 |
