- BARRED GALAXY PHOTOMETRY: COMPARING RESULTS FROM THE CANANEA SAMPLE WITH N-BODY SIMULATIONS E. Athanassoula D. A. Gadotti L. Carrasco A. Bosma R. E. de Souza E. Recillas Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas galaxies: general Galaxies: evolution galaxies: structure galaxies: photometry We compare the results of the photometrical analysis of barred galaxies with those of a similar analysis from N-body simulations. The photometry is for a sample of nine barred galaxies observed in the J and Ks bands with the CANICA near infrared (NIR) camera at the 2.1 m telescope of the Observatorio Astrofisico Guillermo Haro (OAGH) in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico. The comparison includes radial ellipticity proles and surface brightness (density for the N-body galaxies) proles along the bar major and minor axes. We nd very good agreement, arguing that the exchange of angular momentum within the galaxy plays a determinant role in the evolution of barred galaxies. 2009 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57115687012 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.37
