| contents | THE MOLECULAR COMPLEX ASSOCIATED WITH RCW 121 AND RCW 122 E. M. Arnal N. U. Duronea J. C. Testori Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas ISM: clouds H II regions The distribution of the molecular gas towards the region containing the open cluster HM1, the Wolf-Rayetstars WR87, WR89, and WR91, and the star forming regions RCW121 and RCW122 is analyzed with theaim of looking for a possible physical relationship among these objects. Using 12CO observations carried outat 2.6 mm with the 4 m NANTEN radiotelescope, and adopting a distance of 5 kpc for RCW121 andRCW122, a giant molecular cloud (GMC) having a lineal extent of 10020 pc is found to be associated withthese galactic star-forming regions. The total mass of this GMC is of the order of 1.2106 solar masses and itsmean radial velocity is about ¿¿15 km s¿¿1. 2009 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57115758014 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.35 |
