contents VLA Detection of the Exciting Sources of the HH 211 and HH 68 Outflows Salvador Curiel Remy Avila Luis F. Rodríguez Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas MAIN SEQUENCE STARS: PRE STARS: FORMATION STARS: MASS LOSS We present sensitive Very Large Array observations at 3.5 cm toward tenregions with Herbig-Haro flows. We detect for the first time at cm wavelengthsthe exciting sources of the HH 211 and HH 68 outflows. We also present 7-mmobservations of the exciting source of HH 211. Our analysis of the cm and mmspectrum indicate that in this source the 3.5-cm emission is dominated by free-freeemission from a thermal jet, while the 7-mm emission is dominated by dust emissionmost probably arising from a disk. This disk is small, with radius smaller than10 AU, placing it in the category of compact protoplanetary disks. The excitingsource of HH 68 coincides with the object HH 68b, as previously suggested byother authors. We also find that the exciting source of the HH 119 flow in B335,previously reported at centimeter wavelenghts, is time-variable. 2001 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57137209 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Num.2 Vol.37
