contents Statistic Reliability of the Meso-Nh Atmospherical Model for 3D CN2 simulations L. J. Sánchez R. Avila E. Masciadri Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas SITE TESTING METHODS: NUMERICAL ATMOSPHERIC EFFECTS The numerical technique is, at the present time, the only approach that canprovide 3D C2N maps in a region around a telescope. Previous studies showed thatthe non-hydrostatic atmospherical Meso-Nh model can simulate reliable C2N vertical profiles. Recently, a new calibration technique for the model was proposed in orderto improve the reliability of the simulations. In this paper we apply this techniqueto a sample of 10 nights of the San Pedro Mártir site testing campaign of May2000 in order to study the statistical reliability. Measurements of the C2N profiles provided by different instruments are compared with simulations and the resultsare analysed statistically after the calibration. For the first time, the comparisonbetween measurements and simulations is done considering the turbulence contributionsprovided by all the regions of the atmosphere (the boundary layer, the freeatmosphere, and the surface layer) and by the dome of the telescope. Our resultsshow that the dispersion between measurements and simulations is comparable tothat obtained between measurements provided by different instruments ( 30%).Suggestions are presented for improvements to be implemented in the Meso-Nhmodel. 2004 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57140101 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Num.1 Vol.40
