contents Expansion parallax for the compact planetary nebula M2-43 L. Guzmán Y. Gómez L. F. Rodríguez Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas 43) STARS: DISTANCES TECHNIQUES: INTERFEROMETRIC PLANETARY NEBULAE: INDIVIDUAL (M2 We present high quality radio continuum observations made with the VeryLarge Array at 3.6 cm at two epochs toward the planetary nebula M2-43. The comparisonof the two epochs, obtained with a time separation of 4.07 years, clearlyshows the expansion of the planetary nebula with an angular rate of 0.61 0.09mas year_1. Assuming that the expansion velocity in the plane of the sky (determinedfrom these measurements) and the expansion velocity in the line of sight(determined from optical spectroscopy available in the literature) are equal, we finda distance to the planetary nebula of 6.9 1.5 kpc. This is the largest distance fora planetary nebula measured up to now with this technique. 2006 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57142113 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Num.1 Vol.42
