contents Haystack observations of cs and ch3oh toward star forming regions Evan Jordan Esteban Araya Peter Hofner Mala Mateen Stan Kurtz Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas H II regions ISM: molecules stars: formation We report 12CS J= 1 → 0 observations toward 20 star forming regionsconducted with the MIT 37m Haystack telescope. Three of the sources were alsoobserved in the 13CS J= 1 → 0 line, and five sources where observed in the CH3OHJK = 70 → 61 A+ transition at 44 GHz. We detected 13CS and CH3OH emissiontoward all sources observed, and 12CS emission toward 19 of the 20 sources in thesample, 11 of which are new detections. We found a strong correlation betweenthe 12CS FWHM and the source distance, indicating the potential use of 12CSJ= 1 → 0 emission as a tool to estimate distances to star forming regions. Wealso report detection of CH3OH 44 GHz maser variability in most of the observedsources. 2008 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57144103 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Num.1 Vol.44
