contents LX LEO: A HIGH MASS-RATIO TOTALLY ECLIPSING W-TYPE W UMA SYSTEM Birol Gürol Raúl Michel Chantal Gonzalez Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Binaries: eclipsing echniques: photometric stars: individual (LX Leo) We present the results of our investigation of the geometrical and physical parameters of the binary system LX Leo. Based on CCD BV Rc light curves, and their analyses with the Wilson-Devinney code, new times of minima and light elements have been determined. According to our solution, the system is a high mass-ratio, totally eclipsing, W-type W UMa system. Combining our photometric solution with the empirical relation for W UMa type systems by Dimitrow & Kjurkchieva (2015), we derived the masses and radii of the components to b e M 1 = 0 .43 M⊙ , M2 = 0 .81 M⊙ , R 1 = 0 .58 R ⊙ and R 2 = 0 .77 R ⊙. In addition, the evolutionary condition of the system is discussed. 2017 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57153206002 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Num.2 Vol.53
