contents Records of major and minor transgression and regression events in the Paleo-Sea of Japan during late Cenozoic Iwao Kobayashi Osamu Takano Ciencias de la Tierra Niigata regression Sea of Japan transgression late Cenozoic Late Cenozoic strata distributed along the coastal region of the Sea of Japan are a goodrecorder of transgression and regression events in the Paleo-Sea of Japan. The main events arerecognized from many stratigraphical horizons of Niigata late Cenozoic formations. They are1) early/middle Miocene transgression; 2) latest Miocene / early Pliocene events; 3) late Pliocene toearly Pleistocene transgressions and regressions; 4) middle to late Pleistocene transgressions andregressions; and 5) Holocene transgression. It is thought that the events were related to global sealevelchanges, crustal movements and local landform changes. 2002 artículo científico 1026-8774 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57219309 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=572 Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas (México) Num.3 Vol.19
