contents Northern Tian-Shan paleosoil sedimentary sequences as a record of major climatic events in the last 30,000 years Natalia Kovaleva Ciencias de la Tierra Holocene Kyrgystan mountain soils organic matter paleoclimatic changes Specific features of the polygenetic mountain soils of northern Tian-Shan (Kyrgystan) are due tothe action of present-day and relict soil processes that varied in age and intensity. These properties canbe used as indicators of paleoclimatic changes. Diagnosis of ancient pedogenesis was based on criteriawith the longest response time, namely soil morphology, humus characteristics, isotope composition ofhumus and carbonates, and the soil age. Results indicate a glacial climate with mean annual temperatureabout -25° C during the late Pleistocene, a dry and cold climate during the early Holocene, warm anddry conditions of soil formation in the middle Holocene, and a humid climate of the late Holocene. 2004 artículo científico 1026-8774 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57221108 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=572 Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas (México) Num.1 Vol.21
