contents Paleosols in the Ruma loess section (Vojvodina, Serbia) Slobodan B. Marković Nikola S. Kostić Eric A. Oches Ciencias de la Tierra loess Serbia Ruma section paleopedology paleosol sequences The Ruma loess section, located in the central part of the south slope of Fruška Gora Mountain, exposes a 20 m thick series of loess and paleosols in the local brickyard. Results of amino acid racemizationgeochronology confirmed middle- and late-Pleistocene ages of Ruma’s loess-paleosol sequences, andcorrelates with aminostratigraphic subdivisions at other Central European sites. Paleopedologicalanalyses describe morphology, mineralogy, grain-size distribution and carbonate content of the sedimentsand paleosols. Five paleosol levels represent the environmental transition from humid forest environmentsto relatively dry steppe interglacial landscapes during the last about 350 ka. Especially interesting arethick pedogenic layers formed in distinct paleo-depressions, which were created during the last glacialcycle. These horizons provide proxy data useful in the detailed reconstruction of environmental conditionsduring marine oxygen-isotope stages 5 and 3. 2004 artículo científico 1026-8774 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57221109 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=572 Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas (México) Num.1 Vol.21
