contents Una evaluacion del conocimiento y de la distribucion de las Papilionidae y Pieridae mexicanas (Insecta: Lepidoptera) Leonor Oñate Ocaña Jorge E. Llorente Bousquets Juan J. Morrone Biología Mexico Pieridae diversity data bases butterflies Knowledge on Mexican Papilionidae and Pieridae was evaluated through the analysis of 39,300distributional data, which correspond to 127 species, 499 quadrats, and 2325 localities, on a grid of 0.5/blocks to assess distributional information on these butterflies. We found that the Coniferous-Oak Forest isthe richest species vegetational type, although the Cloud Forest is the most important area collected. Themore abundantly collected species have wide distributional ranges. Some well known endemic species areBaronia brevicornis and some species of the genera Enantia, Catasticta and Lieinix. The tropical areas of thestates of Mexico, Veracruz, Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Guerrero were the best collected areas in Mexico. 2000 artículo científico 0065-1737 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57508108 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=575 Acta Zoológica Mexicana (nueva serie) application/pdf Instituto de Ecología, A.C.
