contents Papel del sistema mesolímbico dopaminérgico en el componente afectivo del dolor crónico Francisco Sotres Bayon Francisco Pellicer Medicina Pain emotion dopamine cognition Pain is a recognizable event, with an aversive emotionalcontent a defined localizable topology and duration. TheInternational Association for the Study of Pain has defined itas an unpleasant sensorial and emotional experienceassociated to a real or potential tissue injury, which includes aseries of behaviors related to pain, visible or audible, that canbe modified by learning.A classification for its temporality has been suggested: acuteor phasic pain and chronic or tonic pain. Acute pain isconducted by the lateral spinothalamic system, it is brief andits intensity decays rapidly. Chronic pain is persistent and isconducted by the medial spinothalamic system.Chronic pain animal models have been developed withwhich it is intended to clear out the operating way of a complexphenomenon that requires more rational therapeuticalternatives. There are three basic models: irritative centralfocus, deafferentation and hiperestimulation. Our group hasdeveloped an hiperestimulation paradigm by means of anintraplantar carrageenan (CAR) injection, which triggers a selfinjurybehavior (SIB) associated to the unpleasant andpersistent painful input. This abnormal behavior is exhibitedin human syndromes such as: Lesh Nyhan, Gilles de laTourette, congenital analgesia, and psychiatric disorders:obsessive-compulsive, depression and schizophrenia. Inanimals, this behavior is associated to disestesic, spontaneouspains, hiperalgesia and allodynia, that, as well as chronic pain,is very variable between individuals and involve genetic, cognitive and affective factors not yet well identified... 2000 artículo científico 0185-3325 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=58212304 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=582 Salud Mental application/pdf Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatría Ramón de la Fuente Muñiz Salud Mental (México) Num.1 Vol.23
