To evaluate drugconsumption, multiple epidemiologic indicators were usedtaking into account several characteristics of thisphenomenon, such as the magnitude of its use, itsbehavioral tendencies, and the geographic extension ofits use. One of these indicators is the "rate" of its continueduse, which describes the percentage of those that, afterhaving initiated drug use, continued using it, and also ofthose who increased its use.
