Low social support alsocorrelated significantly with the number of self-reportedillnesses, but correlation coefficients were very low.The correlations with some socio-demographic variables werelow and statistically significant only for women. Social supportcorrelated with educational level, and negatively with age andnumber of children. In married people no gender differencewas found, but single men were found to have less socialsupport than single women.
