It is usually generated by the effect of structures on the dental and supporting the teeth. The clinical presentation is facial asymmetry, effacement of groove and tooth mobility. The treatment is removal of the cause in conjunction with antibiotic therapy. It has been reported a worldwide prevalence between 5 and 34%, and nationally in the Foundation HOMI Hospital de la Misericordia of Bogota of 38%. Objective: To determine the prevalence of odontogenic cellulitis in population of 0 to 18 years old attended to Foundation HOMI Hospital de la Misericordia of Bogota between February2009 and February 2011, treated in the Stomatology Pediatric service. Material and Methods: A descriptive, retrospective and cross sectional study. The records of 502, we identified 188 records of patients diagnosed with odontogenic cellulitis. Results: The prevalence of odontogenic cellulitis was 37.45%. The most affected age group was between 3 and 5 years with 42.55%, male gender predominated with 59.04%. The most frequent cause was endodontic with 76%, the area with greater commit mentin the upper facial region was the lower eye lid in 30% of cases of which 35% was associated with temporary molars. In the lower facial region, the submandibular area was hardest hit with 34% being compromised lower molars by 23%. In most cases the resolution was between 3 to 7 days and 97.86% of cases diagnosed are not presented any kind of complication.
