| contents | Tratamiento farmacológico del TOC Cristina Lóyzaga Humberto Nicolini Medicina Obsesive psychopharmacology compulsive disorder The pharmacological management of OCD is based in theserotonin reuptake inhibitors (SRI), which are effective andsafe. The SRI are as effective as clorimipramine, produce lesscollateral effects, are well tolerated and produce moreattachment. Their antiobsessive efficacy is independent of theirantidepressive actions. It has been suggested that high scoresin compulsions predict a poor answer to treatment. Forresistant, refractory or comorbidity cases, a combination ofdefferent SRSI, benzodiazepins or boosters, such as litio orantipysychotics, like risperidona or haloperidol have been usedwith relative success. The use of litio is controversial, yet itseems to be useful as a boosters in 15 to 30% of the patients. The combination of SIRS with antipsychotics was first used inpatients with OCD and psychotic symptoms, although they arenow used in resistant patients. The pharmacological treatmentof OCD children is based in the use of SRSI. It is safe, efficientand well tolerated in this group of age.We describe the pharmacological features and the clinicalanswer of the medications used in OCD. 2000 artículo científico 0185-3325 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=58262306 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=582 Salud Mental application/pdf Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatría Ramón de la Fuente Muñiz Salud Mental (México) Num.6 Vol.23 |
