contents La medición de la conducta suicida en México: estimaciones y procedimientos Guilherme Borges Liliana Mondragón Reyna Gutiérrez Medicina adults adolescents measurements Suicidal ideation attempted suicide This is an analysis of the results of several studies performed indifferent populations of Mexico on suicide ideation and attempts,in which different methods and measurement instruments wereused. Most of these studies were representative samples ofhousehold and students surveys, and studies at clinical settings. The highest prevalence of suicide attempt was 10%. The highestprevalence of suicide ideation was 40.7%. Important differenceswere found according to the instruments used to measure suicidalbehavior in the time frame and in the cut-off points used fordefining cases. These analyses, give precise information on ideation andsuicide attempts in the Mexican population, which is importantfor designing policies. Unified criteria will provide betterregisters on both suicide ideation and attempts. 2001 artículo científico 0185-3325 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=58262402 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=582 Salud Mental application/pdf Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatría Ramón de la Fuente Muñiz Salud Mental (México) Num.6 Vol.24
