El trabajo se sustenta por ser de tipo aplicativo de nivel descriptivo-explicativo. Se obtuvo como resultados que las características socioeconómicas de la población objeto de estudio son similares a las de otros departamentos. El 79% de las mujeres encuestadas tienen una edad entre 15 a 30 años de edad; la mayoría de las mujeres nacidas en el departamento de Huánuco y tienen una residencia reciente en el lugar donde viven; solo el 25% se encuentra casada, el 73% de las mujeres tienen de uno a seis hijos. Las mujeres de los asentamientos humanos de la ciudad de Huánuco sufren permanente maltrato de su pareja. La situación de pobreza, el bajo nivel educativo, los patrones culturales expresados en sus costumbres y tradiciones de su propia idiosincrasia ocasionan y agudización del p r o b l e m a . C o n c l u y e n d o q u e l a s consecuencias desencadenantes acerca del problema de la mujer es la desintegración familiar. Los hijos heredan modelos que en lugar de contribuir a la solución del problema la agudizan. En el momento que las mujeres se van incorporando cada vez más al mercado laboral, se van creando las posibilidades de dejar su condición de dependencia frente a los hombres.The work included the study of the problems of women who experience domestic violence in Huanuco, starting with its characterization social and cultural identification of the causes and consequences of domestic violence and the cause-effect relationship exists. The work is based on the type of application-explanatory descriptive level, as first diagnosed the problem and then explain it from their reality. Getting results that the socio-economic characteristics of the study population are similar to those of other departments. 79% of women surveyed have an age between 15 to 30 years of age in relation to the place of birth, most women are from the department of Huánuco 84%, only 25% are married, the rest have other marital status; story in the number of children 73% of women have one to six children. Women in human settlements in the city of Huánuco, suffer permanent abuse their partners. The situation of poverty, poor education, cultural patterns expressed in their customs and traditions of their own idiosyncrasies to the origin and cause worsening of the problem. Concluding that the consequences triggers about the problem of women is the family breakdown. Children inherit models instead of contributing to the solution of the problem worsen. The children will be part of a violent society, which requires people rather tolerant, non-violent, and contribute, especially to overcome the "defects" that exists in society.
