contents Bioremediation for degradation of total hydrocarbons present in the sediments of a fuel service station Diana Cristina Ñústez Cuartas Diego Paredes Cuervo Janneth Cubillos Vargas Ingeniería Hydrocarbons bioremediation biostimulation bioaugmentation fuel service stations The effect of Bioaugmentation and Biostimulation of sediment contaminated with hydrocarbons (TPH) from Fuel Service Station (EDS) was evaluated; these sediments result from industrial wastewater treatment maintaining, in the grease and sand trap, perimeter channels and vehicle washing. In this research, eight experimental units were made with high density polyethylene baskets in which contaminated sediments were treated. One (1) factor (bioremediation) and four (4) levels (100% sediments; 100% sediments and nutrients; 60% of sediments + 40% of soil with adapted microorganism and, 60% of sediments + 40% of soil with adapted microorganism and nutrients) were assessment and a duplicate of each unit were made for statistical purposes. The evaluation period of the experimental units was twenty-three (23) weeks, where degradation rates were obtained between 90 and 105 mg/kgss*d, with hydrocarbon percentage reductions between 83 and 94%. Both strategies for bioremediation (biostimulation and bioaugmentation) did not show significant statistic differences (p> 0.05). 2014 artículo científico 0254-0770 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=605767215003 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=6057 Revista Técnica de la Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad del Zulia application/pdf Universidad del Zulia Revista Técnica de la Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad del Zulia (República Bolivariana de Venezuela) Num.1 Vol.37
