However, RV manual delineation is a tedious task and the design of computational support tools is challenging due to geometric and dynamic variability. This work introduces a representation based on the dense Hough transform (DHT) that allows a non-parametric characterization of the shape, encoding each voxel by its curvature and orientation. This representation is integrated into a Bayesian tracking approach, which efficiently segments the RV structure throughout the cardiac cycle. The proposed approach was evaluated on a public dataset, with 16 patients, achieving a Sørensen-Dice coefficient of 0.87 and 0.92, for complete volumes and basal structures, respectively. These results evidence an adequate fit of the proposed model with respect to RV shape throughout the entire cardiac cycle. 2022 artículo científico 1900-2351 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=607870799007 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6078/607870799007/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6078/607870799007/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6078/607870799007/607870799007.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6078/607870799007/movil https://doi.org/0.33571/rpolitec.v18n35a6 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=6078 Revista Politécnica application/pdf Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid Revista Politécnica (Colombia) Num.35 Vol.18
