Armada-Crespo Psicología Non Program Children Effectiveness Emotional skills In recent years, different types of programs to improve emotional skills have been implemented in educational contexts, mainly in schools. However, few studies have been carried out in non-formal educational contexts, and also include an assessment of program effectiveness. The aim of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of a skill development program in emotion perception and understanding emotions for children, applied during a summer school. The study used a randomized experimental design with repeated measures, pretest-posttest assessments, and a control group. The sample was made up of 22 participants. The intervention consisted of a training program, based on the skill model. To check skill acquisition, an adaptation of the ACES test was applied. The results reflected a significant increase in emotion perception and understanding emotions in the experimental group.
