  • Development of a Spectrometer controlled by a PC R. Rosas Vélez P. Reyes López J. de la Rosa Vázquez E. Moreno García Ingeniería spectra monochromator wavelength sweep high optics sensitivity The development of a spectrometer controlled by means of apersonal computer (PC) is presented in this work. Theprototype will be used to obtain the fluorescent spectraemitted by a sample under the Laser Induced Fluorescence(LIF) technique. Also, the prototype is useful to obtain spectraof diverse light sources. The spectrometer is generally formedby a monochromator associated to a stepper motor, a photomultiplier tube (PMT) and a data acquisition board (DAQ)intended to communicate with the PC. A control programhas been written in the graphical programming language Gof LabVIEW, which generates a wavelength (λ) sweep bymoving the diffraction grating of the monochromator withthe stepper motor. At each λ-value the program measures therelated irradiance and processes the measurements. Theprogram also plots this information in real time and buildsthe spectra detected by the PMT. We used a mercury lamp tocalibrate the monochromator and it was found an error lesserthen ±0.2 nm. As a result it is presented a high sensitivityautomated spectrometer, with a useful range covering from200 nm to 800 nm. 2007 artículo científico 1665-0654 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=61411308 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=614 Científica application/pdf Instituto Politécnico Nacional Científica (México) Num.3 Vol.11
