contents State of the Art of Fingerprint Indexing Algorithms Alfredo Muñoz Briseño Andrés Gago Alonso José Hernández Palancar Computación Indexing algorithms fingerprints features fingerprints verification triplets features and ridges features Due to the large size that fingerprint databases generally have, the reduction of the search space is indispensable. In the resolution of this problem, indexing algorithms have a fundamental role. In the literature, there are several proposals that make use of different features to characterize fingerprints. In addition, a wide variety of recovery methods are reported. This paper concisely describes the indexing algorithms that have reported better results so far and makes a comparison between these, based on experiments in well known databases. Finally, a classification of the indexing algorithms is proposed, based on some general characteristics. 2011 artículo científico 1405-5546 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=61520862008 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=615 Computación y Sistemas application/pdf Instituto Politécnico Nacional Computación y Sistemas (México) Num.1 Vol.15
