contents Hierarchical Contour Shape Analysis Daniel Valdes-Amaro Abhir Bhalerao Computación shape models brain contours Shape analysis Gaussian pyramids shape representation This paper introduces a novel shape repre- sentation which performs shape analysis in a hierarchi- cal fashion using Gaussian and Laplacian pyramids. A background on hierarchical shape analysis is given along with a detailed explanation of the hierarchical method, and results are shown on natural contours. A com- parison is performed between the new method and our proposed approach using Point Distribution Models with different shape sets. The paper concludes with a discus- sion and proposes ideas on how the new approach may be extended. 2015 artículo científico 1405-5546 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=61539886003 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=615 Computación y Sistemas application/pdf Instituto Politécnico Nacional Computación y Sistemas (México) Num.2 Vol.19
