contents Data-driven shared decision-making: a paradigm shift Rianne Fijten Leonard Wee Andre Dekker Cheryl Roumen Medicina data making paradigm data science Shared decision At first sight, shared decision-making and data science seem like two vastly different fields. Yet, despite their differences, both fields could, if combined, reinforce clinical utility for both. Here we describe a new paradigm called data-driven shared decision-making (dSDM), an extension of the existing shared decision-making paradigm. In dSDM, data’s role and its interaction with the patient and doctor are made explicit. Furthermore, we describe the opportunities and challenges of combining data science and shared decision-making into this new paradigm. We believe that dSDM will bridge the gap between the need for patient empowerment and the need for more personalized medicine. 2021 artículo científico 1663-618X https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=664472032001 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6644/664472032001/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6644/664472032001/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6644/664472032001/664472032001.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6644/664472032001/movil https://doi.org/10.5166/jroi.11.2.1 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=6644 Journal of Radiation Oncology Informatics application/pdf Universität Bern Journal of Radiation Oncology Informatics (Suiza) Num.2 Vol.11
