- LA PAUVRETE: UN MAL DISCRET? Marie Lorillard Antropología This article examines different representations of poverty in Senufo society (West Africa). In songs found in the popular oral literature, poverty is treated as a kind of discreet suffering. In informal discourse, by contrast, it is treated more crudely and becomes a marker of identity.
