Hilgert Biología Argentina Cloud forest Farming systems Andean agriculture In this paper we analyze the altitudinal use of the environment in the traditional agriculturalpractices of an Andean rural community of Salta Province, Argentina. At present, families that used tomove periodically among different settlements are gradually turning to be sedentary. This process hasresulted in the weakening of the vertical use of the environment, the concentration of agriculturalactivities into a sole altitudinal level, the loss of some cultigens proper of abandoned areas and in theincrease in the pressure of use in permanent locations. Even though ancestral agricultural practices arestill in use in the community under study, changes are negatively influencing their preservation. 2005 artículo científico 0011-6793 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=66943403 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/669/66943403/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/669/66943403/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/669/66943403/66943403.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/669/66943403/movil en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=669 Darwiniana application/pdf Instituto de Botánica Darwinion Darwiniana (Argentina) Num.1-4 Vol.43 |
