- Two new taxa in Cyrtopodium (Orchidaceae) from southern Brazil João A.N. Batista Luciano B. Bianchetti Biología Taxonomy Cyrtopodium Orchidaceae Southern Brazil Cyrtopodium kleinii and C. brandonianum subsp. lageanum (Cyrtopodiinae, Cymbidieae,Orchidaceae) from southern Brazil are described and illustrated. Cyrtopodium kleinii is similar to agroup of terrestrial species characterized by their small pseudobulbs, buried underground, and smallflowers, but it can be distinguished by the color of its flowers, lip lateral lobes slightly or not falcate andsubequal in length and width, lip midlobe base with little or no constriction, and geographicaldistribution. Cyrtopodium brandonianum subsp. lageanum is similar in general flower color to typicalC. brandonianum, but it can be distinguished by its earlier flowering, leaves poorly developed atanthesis and different shape and colour of the lip.
