This retrospective correlational study collected information from 396 students from a Peruvian university, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, through a virtual survey conducted during two weeks of the Peruvian quarantine (March 13 – May 13, 2021). The main results show that there is an association between the effects of the media and compliance with health recommendations. The most reassuring messages came from authorities such as the president of Peru, the university, and government text messages; as well as television; while the most disturbing messages were spread through social networks and other media. Furthermore, the findings show that university students mostly complied with the main recommendations of the Peruvian government and the WHO. 2024 artículo científico 2550-6587 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=673178495007 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6731/673178495007/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6731/673178495007/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6731/673178495007/673178495007.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/6731/673178495007/movil 10.33936/rehuso.v9i2.6050 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=6731 Revista de Ciencias Humanísticas y Sociales (ReHuSo) application/pdf Universidad Técnica de Manabí Revista de Ciencias Humanísticas y Sociales (ReHuSo) (Ecuador) Num.2 Vol.9 |
