It belongs to Turnera series Leiocarpae because of its smooth fruits, Àoriferous leaves with nectaries and immature seeds with epicuticular and stick-shaped wax. Its racemose inÀorescences and linear or angusti-elliptic leaves resemble those of T. melochioides var. arenaria from which T. confertiÀora can be distinguished by the tomentose indumentum (vs. glabrous or pilose, never tomentose). Floral size and morphology are similar to those of T. angelicae, with pilose petals and staminal ¿laments, but with glabrous styles (vs. pilose).
