To measure educational aptitudes, the Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) was applied to a nonrandom sample of 1530 first- year undergraduate students of a private university in Argentina. For the analysis, multiple and logistic regression models were used. The results showed that DAT scores can predict academic performance, but there is a moderate to low relationship between these scores and dropout rates. To summarize, this study is a first step to predict students’ academic success, in order to save resources and prevent frustration. 2013 artículo científico 1729-4827 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=68627456009 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=686 Liberabit.
