Ocular toxicityinduced by cancer chemotherapy includes a broadspectrum of disorders, reflecting the uniqueanatomical, physiological and biochemical featuresof the eye. Understanding the ocular side effects willassist the ophthalmologist and oncologist torecognize them early and intervene beforeblindness occurs. Anticipation of various treatmentrelatedtoxicities may also provide the opportunityfor pharmacists to develop intervention strategiesthat could minimize or eliminate an expected sideeffect. The ophthalmologist should examine patientson anticancer therapy at baseline and three monthlythereafter.
