There is enoughscientific evidence that shows that healthy life stylesprevent the appearing of those diseases. Objective:To establish the frequency of exposition to riskyfactors concerning heart diseases for CorporaciónUniversitaria Lasallista´s students, aiming to acquireinformation that helps in the development ofstrategies for avoiding those factors. Materials andmethods: A descriptive study was made, using aself-applied survey to get the information. Aftercriticizing the collected data, a data base in the SPSSvr. 11.00 software was created, and this was alsoused to process the information. In the analysis forhypothetical proofs, these were contrasted with theX2 test when prevalences were compared, and withthe t student t´test when the comparison of mediarates was made. The statistic significance wasassumed when the probability value was les than0.05. Results: A considerable proportion of thestudents have inadequate life styles, and this meansprocrastinated risks for heart disease. Someconducts were particularly worrying, as the total lackof exercise (48%), smoking (36%) and weightincrease (overweight 9.5% and obesity 0.5%). Thedata showed that women have better protectivebehaviors than men, concerning heart diseases. Conclusion: Corporación Universitaria Lasallista´sstudents have a considerable measurement ofexposition to risky factors concerning heart diseases, through their life styles.
