Some Aphoristic Reading Effects: The Experience of an Apparent Disproportion between Textual Size and Meaning Marco Aurelio Ángel-Lara Lengua y Literatura Meaning Aphorism Genre Theory Textual Size Disproportion Many contemporary readers have identified such a reading experience of aphorisms as an exceptional experience of a disproportion between textual size and meaning. Such an experience has been associated intrinsically with the genre and several have proposed their models of explanation for it.
