It is a story in verse or prose with double meaning: a surface meaning and hidden meaning. It is a story that can be read, understood and interpreted at two levels. In this research paper, I will try to find out allegorical elements in Salman Rushdie’s Shame. Salman Rushdie is an Indian novelist. His is a big name in the field of postcolonialism. He is also known for his inventive ideas and technical mastery.
