Tennis started to lose the battle to other,especially new or more elite sports and otherleisure activities. One of the reasons was that thetraditional method of teaching tennis was focusedon a technique or production of the strokes(Crespo 1999) without understanding real characterof the game and approach has not beenchanging for many years. Results of studiesundertaken by the ITF showed that, in some,especially more matured tennis countries, tennisappeared not to be a fun game to learn and playfor the vast majority of youngsters interviewed(ITF, 1998).
