Alsua Ruth Alas Jorge Carneiro Administración y Contabilidad Asia Europe Latin America moral philosophy institutionalism This study examined the ethical ideologies of men versus women, and younger versus older respondents in five countries across three continents. Results show differences among the countries studied. As expected, idealism was highest in Chile, followed by Estonia, China and Brazil. Idealism was lowest in the USA. Relativism was highest in Estonia, China and Brazil, followed by the United States and Chile. Americans from the US tended to have a more exceptionist moral philosophy, whereas Chileans tended to endorse a more absolutist ideology.
