The solvents used were: n-hexane, ether petroleum and their mixtures in thefollowing ratios: 75:25, 50:50 and 25:75 (v/v). The absorbance was measured at 440 nm. The analysis of variance detectedsignificant differences among treatment (P<0.05). The best mixture was 50:50 (0.507 g TC/g of pericarp) (P<0.05). With thepurpose to determine the best time of extraction, were made removals of TC during 1, 2, 6 or 48 h with and without agitationin 100 ml of the mixture 50:50 v/v, in darkness.
