Rodríguez Rodríguez Química variety Chestnut Tenerife minerals correlations The concentrations of P, Na, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn and Se were determined in 40 samples belonging to localvarieties of chestnut produced in Tenerife island. The mineral concentrations arranged according to the following sequence: K >P > Mg > Ca > Fe > Mn > Zn > Cu. The Se was not detected in some samples. The concentrations obtained were lower than mostof data found in the literature. Chestnuts significantly contribute to the Cu and Mn intakes, and contribute to the intake of K andMg. Significant differences in mean concentrations (p < 0.05) between varieties, and between chestnuts from the regions, wereobserved for all the considered minerals.
