Materials and method: Scoping review conducted between March and April 2021 in national and international databases to identify records published in scientific journals and gray literature, without period. Results: The selected sample consisted of 35 records, composed mostly of articles (32; 91.42 %) published from 1990 to 2021. The learning needs of patients before surgery were categorized into cardiovascular system and coronary artery disease; procedures and routines before, during, and after surgery. In addition, several educational strategies implemented in the studies were identified.
