  • Patrimonio cultural: conservar y tutelar el pasado, intervenir en el presente. Reflexiones sobre los pescadores del Mediterráneo Alberto Baldi Antropología There is nowadays in Italy a renewed interest in both artistic and cultural goods. This term refers to the complexheritage of folkloric goods, objects or not, which is an evidence of the varied popular, rural, alpine and seafaringItalian traditions. Instruments and products of minor arts, artistic and refined craftsmanship, also intended forthe production of manufactured objects of daily use, utensils, rural work and fishing techniques, signs andsymbols of popular devotion all undergo scientific reflection, salvage and bringing out activities in museums andexhibitions through interactive and multimedia tools. Giving a merely expository function to this kind of goodsis nevertheless impossible. As a matter of fact they also are a link with the past and with a present which stillhas more or less outstanding marks of a traditional cultural universe. In this way they can become a tool to betterinterpret the dynamics of change, the causes of friction and crisis in the light of the cultural “faults” of the typicalsocial context that has to be analysed. In a research commissioned by the European Community, we have reuseda patrimony of data and knowledge on work techniques, instruments and economic management oftraditional fishing in the Mediterranean Sea. The goal of the above-mentioned research was to find out thereasons of an economic and “cultural” crisis in Spanish, French and Italian fisheries. Folkloric data madepossible to understand the modalities through which a productive universe depending upon values, hierarchiesand old, sometimes archaic customary laws can not unaffectedly accept legislative interventions imposed fromthe outside and the above and which weaken not only the productivity of the fishery business but also aconsolidated conception of world and life. 1998 artículo científico 0188-7017 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=74781609 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=747 Alteridades application/pdf Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Alteridades (México) Num.16 Vol.8
