contents RELATIONS ACROSS THE TAIWAN STRAIT: A NEW ERA Tang Shaocheng Relaciones Internacionales two level game United States European Union German experiences The author analyzes the cross Strait relations of the Ma Ying-jeou administration from both international and bilateral perspectives. Together with the compromise of the "1992 consensus", Ma's conception of a "special relationship" was not rejected by Beijing despite some remaining distrust of Taiwan. Thus, German experiences, where "special relationship" originated, could be used as a reference to the cross Strait relations, though only selectively. This could serve as a good basis for the further development of relations between both sides. Therefore, prospects for better ties, at least in the near future, seem promising. 2009 artículo científico 2386-9453 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=76711954015 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=767 Revista UNISCI application/pdf Universidad Complutense de Madrid Revista UNISCI (España) Num.21
