In them, the common methodologicalfocus was Ethnographic Complementarity, an emergent design that assumes three moments: preconfiguration, configuration and reconfiguration, proposed by the authors in a book on the subject published in the year 2000. These research results suggest that youngpeople have been constructing their imaginaries from hegemonic discourse strands that are based on technical-instrumental rationalism. Their social imaginaries are incarnated inalready instituted cultural practices and in Physical Education syllabi intentionally designed to configure a productive body, docile and disciplined. These imaginaries are notonly re-created in school daily life, but are also infused in the ecology of multiple mediations (family, neighborhood, and mass media). Moreover, participating youths seemto be oriented by instituted imaginaries about sports, propounded through diverse deviceslike course contents, materials and scenarios, assessment, and teachers’ pedagogical discourse, among others. It is also concluded that participating youths are creating newexpressions of imaginaries that further their desire of experiencing new practices and classencounters; in their action dynamics, they demand a shared freedom, a moderate level of performance requirements, and a consensual assessment; they ask to be made visible in recognition and affirmation 2005 artículo científico 1692-715X https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=77330206 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=773 Revista Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, Niñez y Juventud application/pdf Fundación Centro Internacional de Educación y Desarrollo Humano Revista Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, Niñez y Juventud (Colombia) Num.2 Vol.3
