- Performance of coated Peanuts seeds during storage Raphaela Maceió da Silva Francisco Assis Cardoso Almeida Bruno Adelino Melo Acácio Figueiredo Neto Josivanda Palmeira Gomes Agrociencias coating Conservation physiological quality Treatment and coating are agronomic practices that help the conservation of the sanitary and physiological quality of seeds throughout storage. The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of peanut seeds coated with cassava starch, polyvinyl acetate and Polifix DJ-G4 polymer in percentages of 25 and 75% associated with an aqueous vegetal extract (Piper nigrum L.) and a fungicide (carboxin + thiram) regarding water content, germination and vigor (accelerated aging) during storage. The seeds were stored in 250 g pet containers for 90 days. Evaluations were performed every 30 days. The experiments were arranged in a completely randomized design. The data were submitted to analysis of variance by F test (p < 0.05) and means, when necessary, were compared by Scott-Knott test (p < 0.05). Coating materials preserved seed vigor at 90 days of storage. The fungicide and the plant extract did not affect the physiological quality of seeds.
