contents Zoomusicology and musical universals: the question of processes Dario Martinelli Arte Universalia social space social interaction This article focuses on that portion of zoomusicoligical studies called processes, i.e.behavioural patterns belonging to the realm of the para-musical, including the whole culturaldimension of making music, its rituals, social rules and so on. A particular attention will begiven to the processes displaying the establishment of a relation between animals and space(i.e., music as a ritual and social occasion; music and bodily movement; number ofperformers; the cultural dimension of music;and the management of soundscape, primarilythe musical imitation of it). The analysis is transpecific, in that it compares the appearanceand the developments of the mentioned traits across different species (the so-called musicaluniversals), notably including the human one. 2008 artículo científico 1697-0101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=82201210 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=822 Trans.
