| contents | Conventos, monasterios y propiedad urbana en Lima, siglo XIX: El caso de la Buenamuerte Pablo F. Luna Historia LIMA CONVENTS 19TH CENTURY URBAN PROPERTY PERUVIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH This article analyzes the processes of expropriation and repossession of urban property in Peru during the19th century, using as a case study the Convento de la Buenamuerte, a small male religious orderestablished in Lima since the end of the Colonial period. The author approaches a series of generalresearch problems related to the topic in order to make a general introduction that might be useful forfuture studies. Along with other themes, the text attempts to deal the logic behind the medium termjuridical instruments created by the independent Peruvian State for repossessing properties; thedeterioration of State owned properties; the social identity of those benefited by the process; the evolutionof Peruvian Catholic Church owned properties and those of the religious orders; the absence of a realprocess of ecclesiastic repossession comparable to that of other Hispanic american realities, etc. All thesesubjects are analyzed through documents belonging to the Colección Terán held in the Peruvian NationalArchive (AGN) 2002 artículo científico 2027-4688 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=83307005 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=833 Fronteras de la Historia application/pdf Instituto Colombiano de Antropología e Historia Fronteras de la Historia (Colombia) Num.7 |
