The novelty of this sort of app has made psychologial research and practice to be worried about the possible negative psychological consequences, especially in adolescents. The aim of this article is to examine the relationship between the problematic u se of WhatsApp and personality and anxiety in adolescents. The sample was a group of 272 participants with ages between 12 and 17 years from the province of Alicante (Spain). The questionnaires of anxiety (STAIC), personality (TIPI) and problematic use of WhatsApp (CERW, CERM adapted) were administered to consented public schools. Results showed 6% exceeds two standard deviation the mean problematic use of WhatsApp. Besides, we discovered significant differences of the personality characterises and anxiety between men and women. The men had negative correlation with emotional stability and affability, while women had negative correlation with emotional stability and age, both genders had positive correlation with anxiety.
